    The Australian artist Rees Archibald, currently based in Lithuania, is organising a sound workshop called “Touch some noise” on the 19th of March at the National Gallery of Art in Vilnius. During the workshop the artist will show how to make a microphone by yourself and will conduct a group noise performance.

    VAA Nida Art Colony’s project Climbing Invisible Structures has approached the exhibition stage. The last participating artists returned home from residencies in Lithuania, Norway and Iceland in the end of the last year. This year Nida Art Colony will organize the first presentation of their creative results on April 29 – May 15

    VAA Nida Art Colony invites to the Open Studios night on Friday, 25th of March, at 5 p.m. Five artists: Alicja Bielawska (Poland), Marija A. Maeser (Austria), Šarūnas Nakas (Lithuania), Lynette Smith (Australia), Sara Wolfert (Sweden), will present creative projects which they have done during one or two months residency at Nida Art Colony.

    The former Nida Art Colony resident Albert Allgaier is coming back to Nida with his golf project on 7-16th of April. Albert will realize a large scale (52km) outdoor installation based on the teachings of John Cage and Tiger Woods: aim high, shoot low, literally.

    In the end of 2015 we announced an open call for applications for artists, designers, architects, curators and art researchers interested in residency at Nida Art Colony between August 2016 and May 2017.     Climbing POSTER small

    The exhibition “Climbing Invisible Structures. Ritualized Disciplinary Practices in Social Life” presents works by five artists: Tanya Busse, Victoria Durnak, Saulius Leonavičius & Vida Strasevičiūtė, Robertas Narkus and Kristin Tårnesvik. The works in the exhibition point to a wide range of ritualized practices, from performances executed by people who lived ages ago, to contemporary rituals. We invite you to take a closer look at the participating artists and their works.

    Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists' Association and the recently opened Project Space “Sodų 4” are happy to present  the exhibition “Soft Ground” by Polish artist Alicja Bielawska and her collaboration–performance with Kristina Aglaja Skaldina. The performance piece was created by the two artists during the residency in Nida Art Colony of the Vilnius Academy of Arts. The exhibition and performance are curated by Justė Kostikovaitė.

    Workshop is organized by the Centre for the History and Culture of East Central Europe (GWZO) at the University of Leipzig (research group Utopian Communities) and Vilnius Academy of Arts.
