Participatory performance Ecosexual Beat by Pony Express
The 8th Inter-format Symposium on Rites & Terrabytes at Nida Art Colony throughout 20th-24th of June brought together over 50 artists, researchers, philosophers, scientists, ritualists, musicians, and other kinds of practitioners to critically reflect on notions of indigenous culture today as well as reinvent traditional knowledges through Rites & Terrabytes. |

Students and experienced cultural heritage specialists from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland will soon address the following issues: influence of successful protection of the intangible cultural heritage to our daily lives, correlation between human rights and sustainable development. The 2nd Summer School in Cultural Heritage Cultural Landscapes will take place and will be open to public at Nida Art Colony on 4-11th August 2018. |

Group exhibition New Tools in Photography: From Google to the Algorithm curated by Paul Paper has started at Nida Art Colony on September 4th and will run until September 9th. The presented artists Mantas Grigaitis, Aaron Hegert, Esther Hovers, Penelope Umbrico have been exploring how programmes, apps and AI-related technologies shape and change the discourse of photography, challenging traditional boundaries of the medium. The opening ceremony also marked the beginning of NIDA2018 International Photography Symposium.

The one week-long workshop The Baltic Sea: A Liquid Memorial has started on the 16th of September at Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts. Led by creators of renown counter-monuments Horst Hoheisel and Andreas Knitz from Germany the workshop will reflect upon the questions of territorial borders, migrating memories, and intercultural encounters. |

Giedrė Mickūnaitė (LT), Hanna Schaich (AT), Julia Heurling (SE), Amira Hanafi (USA/EG), and Naomi Woo (CA) will present their artistic research and artworks created during their stay at Nida Art Colony. Open Studio days happen every month and provide a unique opportunity to meet the artists, learn of their works, and find out about their experiences and discoveries in Nida.

Until the 28th of September, the procumentation (proactive documentation) of the exhibition (Per)forming Scapes is presented at the VAA/Outdoors Expo pavilion of Ceramics Creative Centre (Maironio str 4, Vilnius). Few exhibition objects have been relocated to Vilnius where they once again (per)form the landscape of Curonian Spit in the cityscape of Vilnius Old Town. The QR codes and hyperlinks transfer the spectator to the documentation of the previous exhibition and presented videos. |
